ImaginOn Celebrates 10 Years
The library and Children’s Theatre of Charlotte are hosting a free festival Oct. 10, and monthly “Super Saturdays” of free youth programming.

It was in October 2005, when the building with brightly colored panels and sculptures designed with kids in mind opened at 300 E. Seventh St. uptown. ImaginOn: The Joe & Joan Martin Center — a 102,000-square-foot multimedia joint venture of the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library and Children’s Theatre of Charlotte — has provided an engaging experience for young people and their families through the common theme of storytelling ever since.
To recognize 10 years of inspiring learning, imagination and creativity, the library and Children’s Theatre of Charlotte are hosting a free festival Oct. 10, noon-4 p.m., followed by monthly “Super Saturdays” of free youth programming. Festival highlights include birthday craft make-and-takes; robotics and gaming competitions in the Teen Loft; giveaways and live performances in the Park Family Story Lab featuring Liz, Holly and The Jolly Lollies; and backstage tours of Children's Theatre of Charlotte.
The fun continues with nine Super Saturdays special events taking place on the second Saturday of each month. ImaginOn is open to children and families seven days a week during the school year, and admission is free. Learn more about all ImaginOn has to offer at imaginon.org.
