This retro diner menu is so vast, even the pickiest eater could be satisfied. Kids especially love the all-day breakfast and the counter of homemade desserts on display.

You can’t go wrong with pizza, but Brixx is also known for fast service and generous outdoor patio space.
Burtons
Park Road and Blakeney
They have a healthy, but friendly, kids’ menu that accounts for allergies and food sensitivities. If you or your child is gluten-free, this is the place to go for options.
Cabo Fish Taco
Noda, Ballantyne
Find coastal Mexican cuisine in a laid-back Baja surfer environment. Guy Fieri visited the flagship NoDa location for “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.” Both locations have ample patio dining, kid’s artwork on display, lively music, outdoor games and award winning margaritas for parents.
Cowfish
4310 Sharon Rd.
Cowfish’s sushi and burger concept means that parents don’t have to wait for date night to get their sushi fix. Kids can chow down on their own bento boxes, Ninja Nuggets and a PB&J “sushi” roll and indulge in a decadent milkshake.
Kid Cashew
1608 East Blvd.
This modern restaurant has a large patio for enjoying Mediterranean specialties. Family friendly and dog friendly, with many vegan creations.
Legion Brewing – Southpark
5610 Carnegie Blvd
Legion’s latest location at Southpark mall has become popular with parents for the ample outdoor space, children’s play area, and satisfying kids’ menu.
Mellow Mushroom
Uptown, Myers Park, Ballantyne
A local favorite for over a decade, each of Mellow Mushroom’s three Charlotte locations have highly engaging atmospheres and kid-friendly touches—including booths inside a large school bus in Myers Park and touch screen game tables in Ballantyne. All locations have bright pop art décor and $5 kids meals on Mondays.
Pinky’s Westside Grill
Morehead Street and Huntersville
The whole family will love the fun foods found at this spot featured on Food Network. Guy Fieri loved the Corn Dog Shrimp and Viking Corn Dog, and so do the little ones.

Ballantyne, University, Lake Norman
Zapata’s serves authentic Mexican food in three locations throughout Charlotte. Each one has ample patio dining and a family-friendly atmosphere that’s great for gatherings large or small.
