CATCH A KID-FRIENDLY FLICK

When you need a break from the heat, head to the nearest Regal cinema for a kid-friendly flick on the big screen. Regal’s Summer Movie Express runs every Tuesday and Wednesday through September 6. During the first show of the day, enjoy $2 tickets and join Regal Crown Club to get 50% off of popcorn every Tuesday.

ENJOY OUTDOOR STORYTIME

Bring the family to SouthPark Regional Library on Saturday, August 12 from 10 to 10:30 am for stories, songs, and other kid-friendly activities. SWIM IN A QUARRY

Head to the quarry at Carrigan Farms for Open Swim. Take a dip in the quarry, jump off the rocks, swing off the rope swing, and fish in the ponds. Hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, plus select evenings from 3:45 p.m. until sunset. The cost is $25 per person Monday through Thursday and $30 Friday through Sunday. BUILD A JELLYFISH TERRARIUM

Spend a fun-filled morning at PlantHouse and create an ocean-inspired terrarium. Staff provides assembly instructions, plant care advice, and answers any questions. The workshop is recommended for ages 6+, and parental supervision is required. Tickets are $26 and required only for guests who build a terrarium. The workshop is from 11am to 12pm on Sunday, August 27 at PlantHouse-Charlotte.
