In just two more days, it will officially be the year of 2015. For some families, New Year’s Eve means another family gathering at the house and for others it means a good day or night around town. Here are a few ideas that are sure to make your day or night in the Queen City full of fun and laughter.

Head uptown.
Settle in at spirit square from 4:30-6 p.m. for the John Tosco’s New Year’s Eve Variety Show. The 5th annual celebration will have entertainment for kids of all ages, including a ventriloquist, juggling, kazoos, singing, comedy and more.  Kiss 2014 goodbye with Discovery Place at the Jurassic New Year event featuring all day activities including a dino eggscavation, loads of crafting and even a robo raptors race.
WBT will be hosting CLT New Year’s Eve at the intersection of Brevard Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. from 7:30 p.m.- 12:30 a.m. Expect live music from a next generation party band, carriage rides, kids crafts and even face painting.  Families can also dig in for a mouth watering meal at the food truck rally. The event is free of charge however, there is a fee for carriage rides, food trucks, etc.  Holiday on Ice plans to stay open until midnight  so that families can have an opportunity to see breathtaking views of the city and a clear view of the main stage. The final celebration will include the countdown to the New Year with the dropping of the queen city crown.

For younger kiddos, celebrate in Huntersville at Discovery Place KIDS for Wonderful Wednesday: New Year’s at Noon. Families can make a noise maker and watch the balloon drop at noon. Or you can head on over to Rock Hill, S.C. for an ice skating experience at the Founders Holiday Ice Rink New Year Celebration. From 2-11 p.m. enjoy a winter wonderland escape with carriage rides and a special viewing of the holiday movie How the Grinch Stole Christmas and also have a chance to meet the Grinch himself. Families can bring a canned good for a $1 off admission.

No matter what you choose to do with family and friends, just remember to reflect on the year behind and look towards the future for bolder opportunities and life changing experiences, after all we’ve all got a new set of resolutions to uphold!
