Better Time Management Leads To A Healthier Lifestyle

Start cutting out the extra activities that don't bring true value to your life.
Time Management

"Time and health are two precious assets that we don't recognize and appreciate until they have been depleted."
— Denis Waitley

Everyone has a multitude of choices to make throughout the day; from what to eat for breakfast to which route to take on the way home. People with a lot of decisions to make tend to get emotionally exhausted and intellectually overloaded. No one has the capacity to make unlimited decisions every day. It is one of the causes of irrational trade-offs in decision making. A person who is mentally depleted tends to make poor choices more often.

No one can do everything and still lead a balanced, healthy life. One of the best habits you can start for yourself (and those who you love) is to start cutting out the extra activities that don't bring true value to your life. By focusing mainly on what brings you the best in "return" for your time, you'll reduce stress levels and be able to enjoy what’s really important to you.

Practice what you want to say to others when approached by an activity you want to turn down. What are you most comfortable saying? "I already have a commitment at that time, I'm sorry" or "I can't commit to that, but I could do this (less time consuming) activity instead." Have a mental script ready to use when you need it.

"Make the choices you believe in your heart are right, and make no apologies.”
— Mary Ann Byrnes

Questions To Ask Yourself:

  • Think of ways you can schedule your most important decisions while you are at your most attentive.
  • What activities can you cut out or reduce your current routine? How will that affect you in a positive way?
