Goblins and Goodies at the Promenade on Providence

Date: Friday, October 22
Location: Promenade on Providence, 10844 Providence Rd, Charlotte, NC 28277
Time: Trick or treating is from 4:30-7 p.m.; the movie begins at 7:15 p.m.
Cost: Free but registration is required.
Details: Don your best costume and go trick-or-treating around the promenade starting and 4:30 p.m., then head to The Green and watch “Casper” at 7:15 p.m. Bring a blanket and lawn chairs, order takeout from a nearby restaurant, and settle in for a wonderful night under the stars.
Pro Tip: No need to leave four-legged family members at home; well-behaved dogs on a leash are welcome.

Candy Apple Decorating Mini Sessions at Sweet Spot Studio

Date: Saturday, October 23
Location: Sweet Spot Studio, 4418 Monroe Rd., Ste. C, Charlotte, NC 28205
Time: Two time slots! Noon and 1:15 p.m.
Cost:  $25
Details: How do you magically turn an apple into a mouth-watering dessert? Dip it in caramel! Join instructor Alyssa Barefield as she shows participants how to create this yummy sweet snack on a stick. Each person will receive two apples with choice of toppings like chocolate drizzle, nuts, candy corn, sprinkles, glitter and more. Children 9 to 14 must register with an adult who is also required to purchase a ticket.
Pro Tip: This is a gluten-free event so everyone can join the fun!

Kick-Or-Treat and Fan Appreciation Night

Date: Wednesday, October 27
Location: American Legion Memorial Stadium, 1218-1238 Armory Dr., Charlotte, NC 28204
Time: 5:30 p.m.
Cost: $12-$90 per ticket. Kids in costume receive one free ticket with every purchase of an adult admission.
Details: Take your soccer-obsessed athletes to the final home match of the Charlotte Independence versus the Loudoun United Football Club. Stay for all the passing, dribbling and shooting action then meet players as they pass out candy to fans.
Pro Tip: You can pack your favorite foods and tailgate before the game. The tailgating lot is available with a limited number of spots for $20 per game. Cash only.

Boo at the Ballantyne

Date: October 29 and 30
Location: The Ballantyne Hotel, 10000 Ballantyne Commons Pkwy, Charlotte, NC 28277

Details: The Ballantyne Hotel has your Halloween weekend covered starting at 5 p.m. on Friday, October 29 with a pumpkin carving class. The cost is $40 per person and includes 1 pumpkin and a carving and painting kit. Come back Saturday, October 30 for a cookie decorating class led by Pastry Chef Christine Clancy. The class is $20 per child and includes 3 cookies to decorate and a coffee, cider and hot cocoa station. Finally, finish Saturday in style with Trick or Tea from 1 to 4 p.m. The cost is $45 for adults or splurge for a Royal Tea which includes a glass of Moet and Chandon Imperial Brut Champagne for $60. Children 12 and under are $25. Tea party guests can also take part in the costume party at 5 p.m.
