Zumba: A Great Workout for Moms

A conversation with Zumba instructor – and mom of four – Syreeta Smith.

What makes Zumba a good workout for moms? As a mom of four, I can say that moms LOVE Zumba most of all because it’s a one-stop shop. It’s easy, it’s fun, it’s effective and, most of all, it’s a much needed stress relief. It’s like going to a party and letting your hair down with an added bonus of getting fit. Plus it’s easy to follow, you meet great people and you can burn up to 800 calories per hour.

Why do you recommend moms find time for working out? In order to be the best moms we can be, we need to make time. It helps increase your energy level, your endurance and your overall quality of life. You’ll be able to run and play, and just keep up with them in general. Wellness is about living a balanced life. You give so much as a mom that you need to make sure you are being attended to as well. You cannot give anything to anyone if your well is empty.
