Nov. 27-29
Light Up Cornelius. Town Hall Lawn, 21445 Catawba Ave., Cornelius. All ages. Free. 4:30-6:30 p.m. Register in advance to attend one of the three Light Up Cornelius events. Makes s’mores, hear seasonal live music, enjoy food and beverages, and wave to Santa.

Nov. 30
Belmont Christmas Tree Lighting. City Hall, 115 N. Main St., Belmont. All ages. Free. 6:30-7 p.m. Watch the tree lighting at City Hall, then stroll down Main Street to see the annual Festival of Trees in Stowe Park.

Dec. 1
Christmas in Davidson. North Main St., Davidson. All ages. Free. Dec. 1-12, noon-2 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. See the falling snow, doggie fashion show, stilt walkers, ugly sweater contest, glowing luminaries, and drive-in movies while enjoying food and shopping. On Dec. 1 at 6 p.m., watch the tree lighting via Facebook Live.

Dec. 3
Fort Mill Virtual Tree Lighting. Millstone Park, 104 Spratt St., Fort Mill. All ages. Free. Prerecorded video will be available beginning at 8:30 a.m. Watch the lighting of Fort Mill’s tree, along with school choirs, dance performances and visits from pageant queens, safely from home.

Huntersville Tree Lighting. Veterans Park, 201 Huntersville-Concord Rd., Huntersville. All ages. Free. 6:30-7:30 p.m. Registration to watch the lighting of Huntersville’s Christmas tree is full, but guests can still watch virtually.

Dec. 5
City of Lancaster Tree Lighting. Historic Springs House, 201 W Gay St., Lancaster. All ages. Free. 7 p.m. Lancaster’s Christmas in the City event will sport a “Christmas Around the World” theme this year that includes a bazaar, parade, and evening tree lighting.

Hometown Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration. Matthews Station, 210 Matthews Station St., Matthews. All ages. Free. 7 p.m. Watch the tree lighting and celebrate the season virtually via Facebook. Watch Santa illuminate the tree! Check Facebook for updates.

Dec. 10
Menorah of Gratitude at Stonecrest. Stonecrest at Piper Glen, 7800 Rea Rd. All ages. Free. 5:30-7 p.m. Watch the seventh annual menorah lighting at Stonecrest in the parking lot of the Regal Movie Theater to allow for social distancing. There will be music, activities for children, latkes, and donuts. 

Dec. 15
Menorah Lighting. Downtown Waxhaw, E. N. Main Street, Waxhaw. All ages. Free. 5 p.m. Come watch the lighting of the menorah, presented by the Ballantyne Jewish Center.

Dec. 26
Undeck the Hall. NASCAR Hall of Fame, 400 East Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. All ages. $27, ages 12 and younger free with paying adult with promo code “CHEER.” 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Come “undeck” the Hall by selecting NASCAR-themed items from the decorated trees.
