THE PINT-SIZED FOODIE: An introduction to Lebowski’s
The latest from our kid food critic

Each month, our 10-year-old resident foodie visits a different Charlotte-area restaurant that’s kid-friendly—but not a kid-topia. He orders something he’s never tried before and reports back with his recommendations for kids and their parents. Here is his review of Lebowski’s Neighborhood Grill in Dilworth.
What we ordered:
We got the Disco Fries ($11) to share. Then me and my sister and Daddy got some wings (6-count/$9, 12-count/$18) and Mommy got the Pulled Pork Grilled Cheese ($13).
How it works:
They’ve got tables and booths inside and those high-top tables outside, but it was nice out so we sat outside. They’ve got TVs out there, too, so we could watch the basketball games. Once you sit down they take your order and the food comes out really fast.
Why I liked it:
They let you get different flavors of wings, so we tried Buffalo, Gold Rush, and ‘Bowski Sauce. Buffalo’s my favorite usually, but at Lebowski’s I like the Gold Rush cuz it’s kinda spicy, but more on the sweet side.
What I didn’t like:
It’s kind of loud with the traffic from the street when you sit outside.
What I tried for the first time:
The ‘Bowski Sauce. It’s kinda sweet, but not, like, crazy on spice.
Why other kids should try it:
They’ve got a kid’s menu with grilled cheese and quesadillas and chicken tenders and stuff, but most of the regular menu is stuff kids like anyway, like burgers and nachos.
What I liked best:
The wings! But maybe the Disco Fries, too. They come with queso and and bacon and gravy on top, so kind of like poutine.
Why parents will like it:
You can watch sports and drink beer and it’s just a fun place to come on weekends after soccer when you don’t want to cook or grocery shop.
Why I would come back:
Wing Wednesday! All day, dude.
