The Ghost Train Returns to Tweetsie Railroad This Fall
Fall is a favorite season for many reasons — pumpkin spice, fall colors, Friday night lights, corn mazes and spooky fun. And every year North Carolina families visit Tweetsie Railroad’s Ghost Train, the delightfully frightful attraction, which will return Friday and Saturday nights from Sept. 22 to Oct. 28.
Named by the Southeast Tourism Society as one of the “Top 20 Events in the Southeast” because of its scary and safe fun, Ghost Train transforms Tweetsie Railroad into a haunted park. Participants can ride behind the haunted steam locomotive with engineer Casey Bones or stroll through the Freaky Forest to meet scary surprises along a wooded path. Enter the Haunted House, where 13 spooky rooms summon. Find your way out of the 3-D Maze, the disorienting Black Hole and a mystifying Warp Tunnel when you visit The Boneyard. Guests can also venture onto the Creepy Carnival rides for a ghostly thrill. You can even catch the spooktacular black light musical shows at the Tweetsie Palace. Kids will enjoy trick-or-treating, and guests of all ages can mingle with the park’s characters in the Main Street Halloween party.
Daytime park visitors can still enjoy Tweetsie Railroad’s Wild West adventures, rides, shows and attractions as Ghost Train begins at 7:30 p.m.
The Ghost Train departs every 30 minutes. Tickets for Ghost Train are $38 per person. To ensure guests can make the most out of their Ghost Train ride, tickets are sold in advance for a designated night with a scheduled train ride time. A limited number of guests will be admitted each evening, so visitors are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance.
