ImaginOn Hosts Engineering Program for Girls

Know a tween or teen girl age 12 to 18 that has an interest in engineering? Young Engineers Of Today with the support of the Society of Information Managers is offering a special spring program at ImaginOn to encourage young women in middle school to explore the worlds of programming and engineering.
The program cost is $492, but thanks to SIM support, you can enroll for $50 (a $442 savings!). This includes all the materials needed for class. Scholarships also are available for families who cannot afford the $50.
The class is a hybrid program meeting for a total of 48 hours over the course of four months. Participants join together twice a week via live, interactive webinars and meet for a hands-on lab with and instructor at ImaginOn Jan. 29, Feb. 12 and 26, March 12 and 26, April 23, and May 7 and 21 from 5 to 7 p.m. Through the use of 3D Printers, Raspberry Pi computers and program games, participants can learn to build a UV manicure lamp and create beautiful electronic trees.
