Headed Through Virginia for Thanksgiving?

The good folks who came up with the slogan "Virginia is for Lovers" have installed "LOVE" letters in the I-77 Welcome Center. Perfect for a family photo.

I'm a big proponent for pulling off the road and taking fun family snapshots with roadside attractions. I especially love it when families festoon otherwise-serious statues of generals and historical figures with feather boas and winter scarves. Try it!

Why pull over at the Virginia Welcome Center

Charlotte parents headed to or through Virginia take note: the Virginia Welcome Center is the perfect place for a bathroom break AND a family photo. Just two hours from Charlotte on I-77 North.

The good folks who came up with the slogan "Virginia is for Lovers" have installed "LOVE" letters (see photo) in the grassy area facing the parking lot. PERFECT place to stage a family photo.

You might have to stand in line to get your shot, but it will be well worth the wait.

While you're there, let the kids pick up some travel brochures. They will love going through the picture-filled fare and might even find a place to pull over for your NEXT family photo. If they do, you'll have a scrap book in the making.
