When the illuminated snowflakes line Tryon Street, Charlotte families know the holidays have hit Uptown. This year, the district is teeming with holiday decor, shows, and activities—ranging from Charlotte Ballet’s spin on a classic to a twirl on Truist Field’s ice rink. The entire month of December has family-friendly outings that’ll keep Charlotteans coming back, as each experience offers its own particular flavor of Christmas joy. Below, we’ve gathered several of those, and you can keep up with the latest offerings this season here.

Through Jan. 8
Light the Knights and Charlotte Christmas Village
Truist Field (324 South Mint St.)
Light the Knights Festival, which has taken place at Truist Field for the last two years, along with Charlotte Christmas Village, expanded its offerings for the 2022 holiday season. It now features a regulation-size ice rink on the field and a 6-lane snow tubing slope in the outfield. Both are rare opportunities in the city’s center.

CLT NYE

Tryon Street at the Levine Avenue of the Arts
There’s only one place to catch fireworks in Uptown on New Year’s Eve, and it comes with live music, food trucks, and the lighting of the Queen City crown. CLT NYE, presented by Ally, is a free, massive party that kicks off at 8 p.m. This year also features activations throughout the site by Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated.
