CELEBRATE ST. PATRICK’S DAY IN UPTOWN

The Charlotte St. Patrick’s Day and Festival returns to uptown on Saturday, March 15. The festival takes place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and extends down Tryon Street from 3rd Street to Levine Avenue of the Arts. See live bands and Irish dancers on stage, peruse artisan vendors, and grab a bite from a food truck. The parade kicks off at 11 a.m. on Tryon Street with bagpipes, marching bands, floats, and more than 1,000 marchers.

GO GREEN AT THE WHITEWATER CENTER

Head to the U.S. National Whitewater Center on Saturday, March 15 for Green River Revival. Start the day with the Color Me Green 5K Trail Run before rafting down the river and listening to live music. At 1 p.m., watch a leprechaun turn the rapids green. 

GET CRAFTY AT CAMP NORTH END

Visit Camp North End on Saturday, March 22 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for The Broken Crayon, a free workshop for children ages 1 to 13. Young artists can create a colorful collage or mosaic mask under the tent set up in the Boileryard. The event is free and drop-in style, but families are encouraged to register in advance to ensure a spot.

CATCH A UNICORN

Come prance through a life-sized unicorn forest and enjoy a magical day of activities and rides when Unicorn World comes to The Park Expo and Conference Center March 29-30. Meet animatronic unicorns, explore an enchanted forest, and do unicorn-themed arts and crafts. The event has a timed entry, but there is no limit to how long you can stay once inside. The last entry time is 3 p.m. on Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets must be purchased in advance; children under 2 are free.
