VISIT THE NEW SULLENBERGER AVIATION MUSEUM

The Sullenberger Aviation Museum officially opens its doors on Saturday, June 1, at 10 a.m. Captain C.B. “Sully” Sullenberger, who maneuvered the famed “Miracle on the Hudson” landing, will be in Charlotte to celebrate opening day festivities. The Museum will be open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 4:30 p.m. Expect two galleries, lab space, more than 45 historic planes, flight simulators, multimedia and interactive exhibitions, plus STEM education programs.

TRADE YOUR POKEMON CARDS

Head to Harper & Skyler’s Toys & Sweets on Tuesday, June 18 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. for Pokemon Trading Day. Attendees will be entered to win Pokemon packs and Pokemon-themed prizes. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

CELEBRATE JUNETEENTH

Head to Plaza Midwood between June 13 and 16 for Juneteenth Festival of the Carolinas. Activities include a youth culture camp, a drum circle, a gospel fest, craft workshops, music, performances, food, a marketplace, and more. Events are open to all ages and free to attend. 

CATCH AN OUTDOOR CONCERT

The Anne Springs Close Greenway’s Summer Concert Series runs every Thursday night through July. Entry begins at 5 p.m. and attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs. On-site food options are available for purchase. Admission for non-members is $7 per adult and $5 for ages 5-12. Members and children 4 and younger are free. Well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome.
