BUILD A SUMMER CAMPER

Bring your little builders to Home Depot on Saturday, August 6 between 9 a.m. and noon for their monthly Kids Workshop. August’s project is a summer camper, and all kids in attendance receive a kid-sized Home Depot Apron, collectible pin, and certificate of project completion for participation.

BOUNCE OVER TO OPTIMIST HALL

Celebrate Optimist Hall’s 3rd Birthday Party on Sunday, August 7 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Kids can enjoy a bounce house, face painting, balloon animals, a caricature artist, and more. No tickets are required, and all are welcome.

GET JUMPING

1,2,3 Jump, a non-profit that promotes fitness and education, will host a mini camp series called Let’s Get Jumpin’! at Northlake Community Studio on Saturday, August 20. The camp is for ages 8 to 12 and includes a free T-shirt, jump rope, and a certificate of completion. Kids can take part in jump rope activities like single rope, double dutch, and long rope. The event is free, and refreshments will be available for kids.

HAVE A CHEESESTEAK

Check out Cheat’s Cheesesteak Parlor’s new spot on Pecan Avenue in Elizabeth. Kids 12 and under can order the Whiz Kids Meal ($9), which comes with a choice of half a Cheesesteak, half a Breakfast Sammie, half an Italian Hoagie, or Chicken Tenders; a side of fries, and a fountain drink or chocolate milk. The walk-up style eatery, which shares a parking lot with Villani’s Bakery and Rico’s Acai, has picnic tables in the shared common area where little ones can run around.
