The Easter Bunny is hopping around to these local Easter egg hunts around town.

Easter is April 21. There are plenty of Easter events and egg hunts happening in the weekends leading up to the actual holiday.

See below for a list of hunts sorted by town (starting with Charlotte followed by an alphabetical of list of nearby towns).

Ongoing Easter Events

Bunnyville. (March 29-April 20). Northlake Mall, 6801 Northlake Mall Drive. Stop by Bunnyville on the lower level in Grand Court for a photo with the Easter Bunny. Mon.-Thurs., 11am-8pm; Fri.-Sat., 10am-9pm; Sun., noon-6pm. Free to visit; cost for photos.

Carowinds Easter Eggstravaganza(April 15-21). Carowinds, 14523 Carowinds Blvd. Snag a photo op with Eggward the Easter Bunny and Snoopy the Easter Beagle, see the Marvelous Mutts Canine Show and be one of the first to ride the new Copperhead Strike rollercoaster. Starting at $45, children ages 3-5 get free entry with a Pre-K pass.

Easter Bunny Photos at Concord Mills. (March 29-April 20). Concord Mills, 8111 Concord Mills Blvd., Concord. Visit the Easter Bunny, and take a photo. Mon.-Sat., 10am-8pm; Sun., 12-7pm. Cost for photos.

Easter Bunny Express. (April 13, 14, 19 and 20). North Carolina Transportation Museum, 411 S. Salisbury Ave., Spencer. Take a 25-minute train ride with the Easter Bunny that includes candy and pictures. Also enjoy inflatables, crafts, bubbles, sidewalk chalk and face painting. Egg hunts on April 19 and 20. Charlotte

April 6

Easter Egg Hunt with Uptown Church. Independence Park, 300 Hawthorne Lane. Enjoy an egg hunt, face painting, MyGym, balloon artist, free giveaways and gift-card prizes. No registration required. 10am-noon. Free.

Easter Hoppenings at Phillips Place. Phillips Place, 6800 Phillips Place Court. Come see the Easter Bunny, along with a balloon artist, face painter and caricaturist. 1-3pm. Free.

Free Community Easter Egg Hunt. Zeta House, 4248 Beatties Ford Road. Zetas of Charlotte Benevolent Foundation will host its 11th Annual Community Easter Egg Hunt. Noon-4pm. Free.

April 13

2019 Queen City Easter Festival. Carole Hoefener Center, 615 E. Sixth St. Enjoy face painting, games, dance performances, crafts, food and an Easter egg hunt and free Easter Bunny pictures. 1-5pm. Community Building Festival and Easter Egg Hunt. International House,1817 Central Ave. #215. Enjoy the egg hunt, live performances and children's activities. Also shop vendors and meet with mortgage lenders and credit repair specialists. Register online. Free.

Easter Celebration at Blakeney. (April 13 and 14). Blakeney Shopping Center, Ardrey Kell and Rea Road. Hop on over for a picture with the Easter Bunny Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, 1-6 p.m., at the Bunny house, located on the Village Green. A portion of the proceeds from Easter Bunny photo sales go directly to the South Charlotte Dog Rescue to aid in its mission of rescuing dogs. Stick around for the Easter Festival from Sat., 2 to 4 p.m., and Sun., 1-3 p.m., and enjoy a variety of family-friendly activities, including a bounce house, DJ and face painting. Artistic-minded visitors can join in a coloring contest. Beginning April 5, print a fun Easter image, color it in and submit the finished product to the Bunny house during photo operations. Free. Cost for photo packages. 

Easter Egg Hunt. West Charlotte Recreation Center, 2401 Kendall Drive. Search for Easter eggs outside the recreation center, plus crafts, games, food and photos with the Easter Bunny. Ages 6 and younger. $6.

Easter at the Library. Billy Graham Library, 4330 Westmont Drive. Go on the Resurrection Quest scavenger hunt, see baby animals and enjoy story time on the patio. Ages 12 and older can tie-dye a T-shirt. 9:30am-3:30pm. Free admission, $10 for tie-dye shirts.

Easter Egg Hunt. Bette Rae Thomas Recreation Center, 2921 Tuckaseegee Road. Enjoy an Easter Egg Hunt and celebrate with the Easter Bunny. Ages 3-11. 11am-1pm. $5.

Historic Rosedale’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt. Historic Rosedale Plantation, 3427 N. Tryon St. Explore the gardens and hunt for Easter eggs during one of the four egg hunts, each starting at the top of the hour. Each participant gets a small take-away gift. Reservation required. 10am-2pm. $10.

McGill's Easter Eggs-travaganza. McGill Rose Garden, 940 N. Davidson St. Free admission includes egg hunt, games and children's do-it-yourself flower arrangement donation station. Easter egg hunt start times: ages 0-3 : 11:30am; ages 4-7: noon; and ages 8+: 12:30pm. Activity wristband ($10) includes crafts, Easter bunny pictures, jump house, popcorn and cotton candy. 11am-2pm. Free admission. $10 for activity wristband.

Naturalist Egg Hunt at Wing Haven. Wing Haven Gardens and Bird Sanctuary, 248 Ridgewood Ave. Make binoculars to help spot treasures during a naturalist egg hunt, learn about songbirds and enjoy seasonal activities and crafts. Registration is required. Ages 10 and younger. 10am-noon. $15-$20 per family.

Plaza Midwood Easter Egg Hunt. Midwood Park, 2100 Wilhemina Ave. Hunt for candy-filled Easter Eggs, plus free Rita's ice for the kiddos and Dunkin Donuts coffee and donuts for mom and dad. Children are separated into groups: ages 0-2, 2-5 and 6+ for the egg hunts. Starts at 9-11 a.m. Free.

April 19

Brunch with the Easter Bunny. Berewick Recreation Center, 5910 Dixie River Road. Register online for fun activities, brunch and an Easter Egg Hunt with the Easter Bunny. Ages 2-5. 10:30-11:45am. $5.

Spring Fling at Hodges Family Farm. (April 19-20). Hodges Farm, 3900 Rocky River Road E. Experience Easter egg hunts, raffles, yard games, hayrides (additional fee), farm animals and a visit from the Easter Bunny. Ages 6 and younger.  9am-2pm. $7 per child for the egg hunt, children 2 and younger free.

Easter Egg 400. NASCAR Hall of Fame, 400 E. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Join the Easter Bunny for a morning full of entertainment and games, including bubble performances, balloon twisting, face painting, a magic show, egg relays, an egg hunt, and photo opportunity. Each child takes home a carton of eggs filled with candy and prizes. Ticket required. 8:30-11:30am. Tickets start at $12, children younger than 2 admitted free. Early admission tickets that include brunch buffet available.

Easter Egg Fun Hunt. Wallace Pruitt Recreation Center, 440 Wesley Heights Way. Enjoy crafts, the Easter Bunny and a fun Easter egg hunt. Ages 2-12 years. 11am-1pm. $5.

Easter Extravaganza. Ballantyne Village, 14825 Ballantyne Village Way. Visit the Easter Bunny, see live bunnies, make a craft, jump in a bouncy house, plus face painting and a balloon twister. 1-3pm. Free.

Lake Park Easter Egg Hunt. Central Church Lake Park, 3624 Lake Park Road, Indian Trail. Come out for face painting, crafts, inflatables, thousands of eggs and food. 10am-noon. Free.

South Charlotte Presbyterian Easter Egg Hunt. South Charlotte Presbyterian Church, 15425 Scholastic Drive. Enjoy food, face-painting, candy and family fun. Children 8 and younger are invited to hunt for eggs. 10am. Free.

Bunny Run 5K and Festival. Downtown Concord, Means and Union Ave., Concord. Run the Fun Run at 9 a.m. or the 5K at 9:30 a.m. Stick around for the free festival with the Easter Bunny, arts and crafts, DJ, and an inflatable slide. 9-11am. $20.


Cornelius

April 12

Easter Egg Scramble. Cramerton Middle School, 601 Cramer Mountain Road, Cramerton. Scramble to collect 3,000 eggs that have been spread on the lawn, see the Easter Bunny and jump on inflatables. Scrambles by age. Ages 12 and younger. 10am. Free.


Fort Mill

April 6

Easter Eggstravaganza. Walter Y. Elisha Park, 345 N. White St., Fort Mill. More than 40,000 eggs will be scattered throughout three age-appropriate egg hunt areas. Bags will be provided for each participant (no personal bags or baskets allowed). Each bag will contain one free raffle ticket. Hunts for children in 5th grade and younger. 1-3:30pm. Free.

Kids Easter Party. Philadelphia UMC, 1691 Hwy. 160 W., Fort Mill. Families are invited to come out for the games, prizes and crafts to celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus. Free hot dogs will be provided. All ages. 11am-2pm. Free.
