CIAA Education Day
The annual CIAA Basketball tournament is in town this week. In addition to the action surrounding the games, the CIAA hosts its annual CIAA Education Day Feb. 25. Middle and high school students are invited to the Charlotte Convention Center to meet with CIAA institutions from North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania, including Johnson C. Smith University and Winston-Salem University.
Attendees can meet with CIAA recruiters and counselors for tips on how to prepare for college and details on the collegiate experience. The program is free to students, and there is a dedicated program for each age group. The high program takes place from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the middle school program is from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. For more information, email email@example.com.
Our March Tweens and Teens issue is making it’s way to stands later this week. Inside you’ll find our annual Terrific Teens reveal that spotlights some of Charlotte’s A-list teens, as well as a feature about early college. High school students choosing early college can graduate with a high school diploma and associate’s degree, but it’s not for everybody. Check out the feature to learn more about what it is and if it could be a fit for your child.
