Best Bets for Where to Play Mini-Golf in Charlotte

Go mini-golfing with the family at these nearby courses.

Whether they are only as big as the putter or big enough to drive a car, kids of all ages can enjoy a round of "putt-putt" golf at these local mini-golf courses.


1. Adventure Landing

My mom started taking my son to the Adventure Landing location in Gastonia when he was 4. It was a favorite outing for the two of them, and still is. Choose from three courses at the Gastonia and Pineville locations. The Pineville location also has go-karts, bumper boats, a kiddie playland. Both locations have batting cages. 2. Lunar Mini Golf

Located inside Eastridge Mall in Gastonia, this mini golf course is completely illuminated by black lights. Kids love it and it's a cool place to play on a hot summer day. $6-$9 per game. Eastridge Mall, 246 New Hope Road, Gastonia.

3. Lake Norman Miniature Golf

Located between Exit 25 and Exit 28 (just before Cornelius), this little gem is tucked behind the Modern Nissan of Lake Norman, and is a  great place for a family date. It has a waterfall, a bear sculpture and model train on the course, plus misting fans for hot days. $6.50-$8.50. 18639 Statesville Road, Cornelius.

6. The Leatherman Golf Center

Play a round on this 18-hole course with a waterfall, streams and fountains. There's a furnished patio by the course if you choose to let the kids play while you watch, or a great place to host a birthday party. $6-$8, free for children under age 5 with a paid round. 5845 S. Tryon St.

4. Queens Landing

Enjoy a lakeside view playing mini-golf at Queens Landing in Mooresville. The course features waterfalls, a cave and a giant sandcastle. $4-$6 for unlimited golf. Queens Landing, 1459 River Highway, Mooresville.

5. Purple Planet 3D Mini Golf

Housed in an old mill, this is another indoor glow-in-the-dark course with an outer-space theme and glowing tunnel kids can walk through. 6325 Wilkinson Boulevard, Belmont.
