Kid-Friendly NYE Events and Activities in Charlotte

Say goodbye to 2024 and welcome 2025 with the whole crew

The clock is ticking towards the ultimate yearly countdown—New Year’s Eve. These family-friendly spots get the festivities going earlier in the day so all ages can ring in 2025.

CLT NYE

Charlotte’s official New Year’s Eve party, CLT NYE, will be held at Truist Field on December 31, 2024. Gates will open at 10:00 p.m. and will be capped off by a thrilling fireworks finale at midnight. Purchase tickets to this family friendly event here.

Charlotte Mecklenburg Library New Year’s Events

The library is ringing in the New Year with several daytime events on December 31st – from story time, a puppet show, and “noon year’s eve” at several different branches.

Noon Year’s Eve Party – Town of Matthews 

Entertainment acts and a kid-friendly DJ will keep this party going from 10:30am-12pm. The DJ will count down to 12 NOON, ending with a balloon drop. Recommended for ages 4 and up, because of the loud music and the need to stay at a seat, but younger children are certainly welcome. Get tickets here.

NASCAR Hall of Fame – New Year, New Season

Celebrate the New Year and upcoming 2025 NASCAR season by exploring teams and drivers. Learn about the Mexican New Year in honor of the first NASCAR Cup Series points race in Mexico. Ring in the new year at noon and test how loud engines can rev up. 10:30 a.m – 2 p.m.

Carowinds New Year’s Eve at WinterFest

Guests can experience entertainment and the fanciful experiences of WinterFest while enjoying an assortment of specialty tastes and sips. Join family and friends for a special countdown celebration to midnight to ring in the new year with fireworks. Guests with early bedtimes can enjoy an authentic New Year’s Eve experience with several early-evening countdowns, and other New Year’s activities.
