NASCAR fans of course know that Watkins Glen, New York hosts a big race every August. The rest of us can take the hint and escape Charlotte's hot, muggy midsummer for the cooler climes of the Finger Lakes. 

I just returned and filed this report with Good Day Charlotte (Fox 46).
