Book Lovers of All Ages Are Invited to EpicFest
In Partnership with Charlotte Mecklenburg Library

EpicFest is an extraordinary, free literary festival that joyfully connects children and families with books and the people who write them through activities that encourage a love of reading and learning.
Nationally recognized children’s and young adult authors and illustrators will spend two days in Charlotte to share their latest books, experiences and passion for libraries with kids of all ages.
Authors and illustrators will visit select Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools on November 7 to speak with students and will headline a daylong literary festival at ImaginOn on November 8.
EpicFest’s 2025 featured guests
We are proud to welcome 8 featured authors to EpicFest this year: Justin Colón, Ben Gundersheimer (MISTER G), Charlotte Gunnufson, Lucy Knisley, Kwame Mbalia, Vanessa Brantley-Newton, Kirk Reedstrom and James Riley.
Additionally, a special performance of Topsy Turvy Cinderella by Children’s Theatre will be held at 12 p.m.
Get ready for the silliest Cinderella you’ve ever seen as the classic tale gets turned upside down. Will Cinderella make it to the ball without tripping over her own glass slippers? Will the prince recognize her even if she’s wearing a disguise? With a little help from the Fairy Odd Mother and the audience as Footman and Fairies, she may find true love before the stroke of midnight. Heartfelt humor, hilarious costumes, and jokes abound in this delightfully daft version of the story we all know and love. You’re guaranteed to have a ball!
