5 Ways to Wile Away a Snow Day

When it's too cold to play outside, try these ideas for fun inside.

Snow days are fun days, but when the it's more ice than snow, the kids are bound to bounce back inside sooner. Here are some best bets for keeping them entertained inside while avoiding the easy screen fix.

1. LEGOS!

Sit down as a family and build away. If you haven't sat down with the kids to build, you may be surprised how much fun it can be. Once you build your masterpiece, upload a picture to win tickets to LEGO KidsFest happening in February.

2. Build a fort.

If you have any big boxes lying around, these are great for designing forts, but pillows, sheets, chairs and blankets work just as well. Let them create their own hideout to read or just relax.

3. Make cookies.

Let the kids get in on the action measuring and mixing.

4. Have a family game day or night.

Pull out the board games and have make it an evening of games. Invite friends.

5. Make a paper airplane target.

This one I saw on Pinterest and think it's a great idea. If you don't have a large sheet of paper to hang and cut holes for targets, just make a maze of masking tape in a doorway.
