Top 5 Things to Rev up Family Fun This Weekend

It may be cold this weekend, but fingers crossed the sun shines! Bundle up and go explore these top 5 weekend family fun events.

1. What does the chicken say? Cluckety, cluckety, cluckety, cluckety, cluck, clack. (Anybody else have “What Does the Fox Say” playing over and over in their head?). Learn all about our feathered, clucker friends at Chicken Day at the Charlotte Nature Museum.

2. Be outside while the sun is shining. Check out the Play 60 KidZone at Freedom Park for a kid-friendly obstacle course and a great 40-yard dash. Race Dad for who gets to put the kids to bed.

3. Join in honoring the life of Dr. Martin Luther King this weekend at the uptown parade. And head to the community celebration event at the Levine Museum of the New South happening Sunday and Monday for performances, children’s crafts and exhibits.

4. Celebrate the Chinese New Year making fried apple wontons, vegetable sushi and fortune cookies at Plaza Midwood Library’s Cultural Exploration.

5. Head for the snow-covered hills for some skiing, snowboarding and tubing this weekend. Lines may be long since it’s a holiday weekend, but the snow should be good. It’s cold up there on the mountaintop!

6. I said five, but adding one more. The Raptors play the Bobcats Monday at 2pm. Get a three-ticket pack for $45 that includes concessions or a team store credit. Not a bad way to spend a day off.

Oh if you don’t know “What Does the Fox Say?” check it out. It’s catchy and funny, and kids like to dance to it … and maybe moms too when getting the wiggles out on a cold, winter day.
