If you have a son named Noah or a daughter named Sophia, chances are they will encounter many more with the same name during their lifetimes as these two names top the most popular baby names list for 2013. The Social Security Administration released its list of most popular baby names last week. The list is based on names submitted when a parent applies for a child’s social security number.
If you live in North Carolina and have a son named William or daughter Emma, they are likely to be amongst many others as those two names rank the highest in the state for 2013. The most popular names by state was released today by the Social Security Administration. Others that round out the top 10 in N.C. are Mason, Elijah, Jacob, Noah, Liam, James, Jackson, Michael and Jayden for boys. Top 10 girl names in N.C. are Emma, Ava, Sophia, Olivia, Isabella, Abigail, Madison, Elizabeth, Addison and Emily.
Pop culture Influencers this year include Arya from “King of Thrones.” Daleyza was another the fastest name riser for girls, also the name of TV star Larry Hernandez’s daughter. The fastest riser in boy names is Jayceon, birth name of the rapper known as The Game.
