Uptown Thanksgiving Day Parade Marches for 69th Year
Start your Thanksgiving cozied up together along Tryon Street for the 69th annual Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Start your Thanksgiving cozied up together along Tryon Street for the 69th annual Novant Health Thanksgiving Day Parade. NASCAR Hall of Fame driver Richard Petty kicks off the holiday season as the Grand Marshal, and is joined by a 120-unit parade line-up that features musical performers, marching bands from throughout the region, 21 floats, 12 larger-than-life balloons, and seven “Segwalloons,” the signature balloon characters attached to Segways.
The parade steps off at 9:30 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26 beginning at Stonewall Street moving north along Tryon Street to 10th Street. Front-row tickets are available for $15 and can be purchased online and through a new Novant Health Thanksgiving app that also has information on performers, bands and floats, plus maps of the parade route.
This is the first year two collegiate bands — Tennessee State University Aristocrat of Bands and UNC Charlotte’s Pride of Niner Nation Marching Band — are in the parade.
If you don’t make it uptown, watch it on WBTV Channel 3 (CBS) or stream online at WBTV.com.
