'School of Rock' Auditions Coming to Charlotte

An open call audition for "School of Rock" will be held Dec. 9.

Get ready, “School of Rock” fans. It's time to unleash your inner rock god or goddess. The Broadway and touring companies for the hit musical is coming to Charlotte in search of new talent. An open call audition will be held Dec. 9 at Spirit Square, 345 N. College St. from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Casting

Dewey Finn
20s–30s; A true original with a high pop/rock voice
Must have at least some basic guitar skills

Band
Girls who play bass, aged 8-12
Boys who play guitar, piano and/or drums, aged 8-12
Must be under 5-feet tall to audition

Singers
Kids with killer rock voices
Must be under 5-feet tall to audition

What to Bring

  • BAND: Guitar, bass guitar or drum sticks
  • DEWEYS: A Rock/Pop Song to sing and your guitar
  • ALL KIDS: A Rock/Pop Song to sing; please bring sheet music for our accompanist
  • Picture & Resume if you have one
