Newly Revived Schiele Museum Science Theater Offers an Immersive Experience

In “Magic Tree House® Space Mission,” a mysterious “M” sends the intrepid Jack and Annie on a fun-filled journey to discover the secrets of the sun, moon, planets and space travel. Based on the “The Magic Tree House” book series for ages 5-10.

Go to infinity and beyond at the newly refurbished James H. Lynn Planetarium and Science Theater at The Schiele Museum in Gastonia. A booming new sound system, 360-degree video projections, new seating and an LED lighting system make it one of the most advanced theater systems in the region, says Philip McGinnis, marketing director at The Schiele Museum. The SciDomeXD fulldome technology coupled with a screen that is 30 feet in diameter envelops guests to create an immersive and entertaining experience. Teachers can also use the planetarium theater to lead student lessons.

At least eleven programs are planned for 2016 that include physics, volcanoes and a trip through the human body. April shows include “Supervolcanoes” and “Magic Tree House: Space Mission.” Find the complete program schedule at schielemuseum.org.
