Foolproof Picture Hanging
Does this sound familiar: You want to create a collage of pictures on the wall, but by the time everything is hanging and lined up properly the wall resembles swiss cheese? If you want to hang pictures with abandon, and get the nail in the right spot each time, this post is for you. All you need are 3 things:
1 piece of lattice (mine is solid vinyl and 12″ long)
1 small screw (mine is a #4 and 1/2″ long)
1 screwdriver with small head to fit the screw
Place the piece of lattice on a scrap piece of wood so you don’t ruin the surface beneath where you are working. Using the screwdriver, place one screw about 1″ from the bottom of the lattice and screw it in so a small portion sticks out the back and the head is still able to hold a picture (top).
Hang a picture on the screw (right), place the picture in the position you want it to be, then press the point of the screw into the wall (below). This will leave a small hole indicating where you need to position your picture hanger. If the frame has two hangers, hang one side and then place a small level on top of the frame to make sure it is level before you push the nail head in for the second hanger.
Pretty easy isn’t it? Now you can hang pictures exactly where you want them and get it right on the first try!
