'Coolinary Kids' Pair With Local Culinary Professionals

Kids who love cooking now have a chance to pair up with professional chefs in Charlotte.

Cooking is cool and kids who love food and trying new recipes now have a chance to pair up with professional chefs in Charlotte and help other Charlotte children by entering through the Coolinary Kids Challenge. The Coolinary Kids Challenge is part of Classroom Central’s Educate Your Palate fundraising event Nov. 12. At the event, eight student participants are be paired with popular professional chefs to bring their recipes to the table.

Coolinary Kids are determined by a contest that asks students to answer the questions, including: Who is your favorite celebrity chef? Why do you love food? What’s your recipe idea with five ingredients or less?

Any student age 8-18 in Charlotte-Mecklenburg, Gaston, Iredell/Statesville and Union county school districts, plus the City of Kannapolis and Lancaster, S.C. school districts, is invited to enter the contest, which is open through Oct. 15.
