Community Public Skate at Bojangles' Coliseum
Nothing rings in the holiday season like a good old-fashioned ice skate. There's even a chance this week to lace up your skates and take the kids for a fun zip around the newly renovated Bojangles' Coliseum. The Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority (CRVA) and Charlotte Checkers are hosting a public skate tomorrow night, Nov. 10, from 7 to 9 p.m. It's your chance to check out the $16 million renovation to the coliseum, which includes a new scoreboard, seats, lighting, sound system, locker rooms and updated concession area. If you don't have skates, a limited number will be available for rental for $5 per person. Those with their own skates can hit the ice free of charge. Concessions will be open and there will be opportunities to purchase merchandise.

The coliseum held an official ribbon-cutting ceremony last Wednesday to give community leaders and city officials a first glimpse of the renovations. The Charlotte Checkers marked their return to the coliseum with a season opener against the Manitoba Moose this past Friday. Visit bojanglescoliseum.com for more information on upcoming events.
