Charlotte's Jazz Arts Initiative Presents A Swingin’ Holiday Celebration
Bring a bit of culture to your holiday festivities this year with “A Swingin’ Holiday Celebration” at Booth Playhouse Dec. 8.

Bring a bit of culture to your list of holiday festivities this year with the help of “A Swingin’ Holiday Celebration” at Blumenthal Booth Playhouse on Dec. 8 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Part of Charlotte’s Jazz Arts Initiative’s acclaimed Jazz Room series, this special holiday show is appropriate for all ages and serves as a major fundraiser to support scholarships for the JAI Jazz Academy.
Some of the region’s top jazz artists will perform a wide selection of holiday favorites, including jazz renditions of music from classic holiday TV specials like “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” “Frosty the Snowman” and more. The JAI All-Star Youth Ensemble will also make a special appearance.
“Our holiday show has become a favorite Charlotte tradition and one of the highlights of our year,” says JAI President and CEO Lonnie Davis. “A Swingin’ Holiday Celebration” is just that – a celebration of a most special time of the year and the most expressive of all musical genres – jazz!”
All attendees are also welcome to enjoy a pre-show reception and silent auction from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Jazz Arts Initiative is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the education and preservation of jazz and related art forms. Limited tickets are on sale now for $20 and can be purchased at www.carolinatix.org or by calling 704-372-1000. For more information, visit thejazzarts.org.
