Charlotte Actor to Play Regina George in Broadway’s Mean Girls
She steps into the role full-time in September

Reneé Rapp, the Northwest School of the Arts grad who won a 2018 National High School Musical Theatre Award, is taking on the role of Regina George on Broadway's Mean Girls (based on the popular film). Rapp first joins the show for a summer engagement next month, before officially stepping into the role full-time in September. The role of George was previously portrayed by Taylor Louderman, who was nominated for a Tony for her performance.
Rapp was the second Charlottean to win the national theater honor (nicknamed a "Jimmy Award") last year, following Amina Faye’s 2016 win. Rapp joins a handful of young actors from Charlotte making waves in the theatre world, including Eva Noblezada, who was just nominated for a Tony for the second time.
