Boy’s Bedroom Report from High Point Market

Twice a year, designers from all over the world make a pilgrimmage to High Point, North Carolina to visit the International Home Furnishing’s Market. We walk miles and miles through showroom after showroom in search of the latest and greatest furniture and accessories being introduced. This week I will show you a few pieces that caught my eye in the boy’s bedroom department. This set of twin beds feature a unique headboard that will give vertical interest to balance the length of the bed.
The industrial look has been very popular in home decor for a couple of years, and now that style has trickled down to the boy’s bedroom. This loft bed features a ladder made from pipes and offers tons of storage via drawers, bins, and shelves. Perfect for preventing messy bedrooms!
The desk continues the industrial look with same piping supporting the hutch shelves. Notice the corkboard on the back for pinning up favorite photos or keepng track of homework assignments. I’m still old school and think it is important to have a dedicated spot for students to work on their studies.
There are always lots of choices in bunk beds and this one was one of my favorites. It is a full over full so there is plenty of room for siblings or sleepovers. The stairs are actually drawers for extra storage. Can you tell I am obsessed with storage for kids’ rooms?
Gray and barnwood looks were also a hot trend in all categories of furniture, and this bedroom vignette was no exception. Once again, I am drawn to the under bed storage. Also – don’t you love the upholstered bench attached to the foot of the bed?
Stay tuned for next week’s post which will share the new pieces I found for girls’ bedrooms. Just to give you a hint, I’ll tell you the big word there is glamour!
