8 Ways to Enjoy Spring Break With Kids in Charlotte
If you're sticking around town for spring break, there's a ton of fun to be had. It's easy to get stuck in a routine, but why not explore the Queen City like a tourist and see all of the sights right in your own backyard.
1. Learn about some of uptown's public art and find some you that's tucked away by doing the Arts and Science Council Public Art Scavenger Hunt.
2. See The Artbooks of Henri Matisse exhibition at The Bechtler Museum of Modern Art. Kids in grades K-12 get in free through April 12.
3. Feel the wind through your hair as you zip back and forth the Catawba River at Canaan Zipline and Canopy Tour.
4. Ignite imagination at Lost Hollow: The Kimbrell Children's Garden at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden.
5. Go see the Charlotte Knights play. A triple-header against the Norfolk Tides starts Thursday, April 9. There will be Friday Knight Fireworks after the Friday, April 10 game.
6. You won't believe your eyes after seeing the exhibition "Illusion: Nothing as it Seems," at Discovery Place.
7. It's lights, camera, science at Discovery Place April 10 at the Big Screen Big Science event featuring "Big Hero 6."
8. Head to Lake Norman's Jetton Park for a play day on the beach by the lake. Bring scooters and bikes to explore the paved loop at the park.
