2008 Moms@Work Luncheon

The 11th Annual Moms@Work Luncheon held Wednesday, Sept 10 at The Westin Charlotte was a great success. The sold-out event honored the top 40 family-friendly companies in N.C. without whom, working moms could not juggle their work/life balance so easily. Guest speaker Ellyn Spragins shared some inspiring excerpts from her latest book "If I'd Known Then: Women Under 40 Write Letters to their Younger Selves," and answered questions from attendees. Many thanks to all who came out and supported this event, as well as to our exhibitors, sponsors and honorees. A special thank you to our prize donors, Joseph Beth and Plummer Graphics. Our thanks also to our photographer Jonathan Keitt, for his important contribution. A portion of the proceeds from our special raffle and ticket sales will benefit The Women's Impact Fund and Mothering Across Continents.

"What I Know Now: Letters to My Younger Self" should be mandatory reading for all women. I strongly recommend it be shared, discussed and -- if you are brave enough -- emulated by writing your own letter to your younger self."

Lesa Ladieri, Senior VP, Pfizer

This year’s speaker, Ellyn Spragins, is a mother, an author, and columnist, best known for “What I Know Now: Letters to My Younger Self.” Her new book, "If I'd Known Then: Women Under 40 Write Letters to their Younger Selves," hits the stands this April.
