Santa Claus is coming to town, he's making his list and checking it twice. Find out where you can snap a photo or even have breakfast with the jolly one.*

 

Nov. 2

Santa Arrives at Southpark Mall

Children can whisper their wishes to Santa at the Simon Santa Photo Experience at Southpark, and parents can get a photo memory to keep (for a fee of course). The sensory-friendly Caring Santa event in association with Autism Speaks. Caring Santa occurs Sunday, Dec. 2 from 9:30-11 a.m. and Dec. 9 from 8:30-10 a.m. prior to mall opening. Guests can register in advance at simon.com/caringsanta

  • When: Pictures with Santa (for a price) continue through Dec. 24 (Hours typically are Mon.-Sat., 10 a.m.-9 p.m. and Sun. 12:30-6 p.m.) Purchase a Santa fast-pass online to skip the wait.

Nov. 8-18

Southern Christmas Show

The largest holiday show in North America, with more than 450 vendors showcasing the latest gifts, treats, holiday décor, gourmet goodies and of course Santa! This year's show theme is "A Fashionable Christmas" and features a Manhattan vibe, with whimsical Christmas windows filled with holiday trimmings turned into stylish décor plus a Southern-chic, Rockefeller Center-inspired tree. Kids can enjoy the model train exhibits and a visit to The Enchanted Village to see a land of dollhouses.

  • When: Sun.-Tues., 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Wed.-Sat. 10 a.m.-9 p.m.

Nov. 9

Santa's Arrival at Concord Mills

Enjoy festive activities and special guest appearances. Santa Claus arrives in style around 6 p.m. followed by a parade down to Santa’s workshop in the Dining Pavilion.

  • When: 4:30-6:30 p.m. Santa arrives at 6 p.m. Meet-and-greet and photo opportunities available until 8:30 p.m.

Nov. 10

Breakfast with Santa at SouthPark Mall

Enjoy light breakfast bites with music and a craft, and a story with Santa.

Cookies with Santa and Holiday Artisan Fair

Take a digital photo with Santa, and shop local craft vendors while the kids bounce in an inflatable and make crafts.

  • When: 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
  • Cost: $10 at the door

Nov. 16

Piedmont Town Center Tree Lighting

Visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, plus enjoy trackless train rides, arts and crafts, face painting and a balloon artist.

  • When: 6-9 p.m.
  • Cost: Free

Nov. 17

Santa's Arrival Parade and Tree Lighting at Birkdale

A parade, live music, vendors, and a chance to visit with Santa.

  • Where: Birkdale Village, Birkdale Commons Parkway and Sam Furr Road, Huntersville.
  • When: 3-8 p.m. with the parade beginning at dusk (around 5:15pm)
  • Cost: Free

 

Santa Paws

Bring children or fur babies to see Santa. All proceeds go to North Mecklenburg Animal Rescue. Refreshments and adoptable dogs on site.

Holiday Magic at Rea Farms

Come out for a free photo with Mr and Mrs. Claus! Meet Sir Purr and visit with characters from Frozen and shop for gifts from Rea Farms Shops at  Stocking Stuffer Lane, plus enjoy carriage rides, train rides, face painting, carolers and the 7 p.m. tree lighting.

Pet Photo Night With Santa at SouthPark

The Polar Express Train Ride

Take a train ride to the North Pole to meet Santa then have your picture taken with him on Candy Cane Lane.

  • When: Open on weekends with extended days Dec. 14-22.
  • Cost: $32+ to ride the train. Photo packages start at $20.

Nov. 17-18

Santa at the Charlotte Auto Show

Santa is stopping by the Charlotte Auto Show Saturday and Sunday. Be sure to also enjoy the family activities, including an area specially designed for families that features a luxury video game truck and an interactive display of Charlotte’s emergency response vehicles. Children age 12 and younger admitted free.

Nov. 17

Breakfast With Santa

Eat a holly, jolly breakfast and visit with Santa in the food court. Enjoy music, games and crafts led by Mr. Nigel.

Santa's Arrival and Tree Lighting at Blakeney Shopping Center

Watch the brand new Christmas tree light up. Then Santa rides through the shopping center to say hi to all the children. Make your way to the workshop where you can get pictures with him.

  • When: 5:30-9 p.m.
  • Cost: Free. Photos cost extra. 

Nov. 18-Dec. 31

Speedway Christmas

Drive the 3.5 mile course to see over 3 million lights. Then visit with Santa in the village for a special photo opportunity. The village also includes a petting zoo, a live nativity, marshmallow roasting and movies on the giant HDTV.

  • Where: Charlotte Motor Speedway, 5555 Concord Pkwy., South, Concord
  • When: Thurs.-Sun., 6-10 p.m. and every day the week of Christmas.
  • Cost: $25-$35 per car for Christmas light show and the Village visit. $20 on days when the village is closed.

Holidays at the Garden

Experience new features, including a musically-orchestrated topiary display in the Four Seasons Garden, illuminated prairie garden, extended lights of fire and ice in the perennial gardens and an expanded display of the Dickens’ Village series.

Nov. 22

Breakfast With Santa at Coco and the Director

Buy tickets to get breakfast with Santa on Thanksgiving Day. Tickets include a choice of breakfast sandwich, side of fruit or yogurt, non-alcoholic beverage, one photo with Santa, and a VIP Bleacher Ticket to the Novant Health Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Nov. 24

South End Tree Lighting

This family-friendly event includes the lighting of the South End Christmas tree, hot chocolate, cider and a visit from Santa.

Nov. 28-Dec. 1

Santa's Bag

Children under age 12 can shop for family and friends (including Mom and Dad) with the help of volunteer elves. Variety of inexpensive, pre-wrapped gifts. Santa will be at the event but there's no photographer. Feel free to bring your own camera. 

  • Where: Children's Theatre of Charlotte, ImaginOn, 300 E. 7th St.
  • When: Wed-Fri., 9-11:30 a.m.; 4:30-7 p.m.; Sat., 10 a.m.-2 p.m. (or until merchandise sells out)

Santa's House at Christmas in Davidson

Part of the Christmas in Davidson celebration, children can share their wish lists and have a picture taken.

  • Where: Davidson College Presbyterian Church Congregation House, 100 N. Main St., Davidson. 
  • When: Santa arrives Thurs., Nov. 29 at 6:29 p.m. in horse drawn carriage to Santa's House where he sees visitors from 7-9 p.m. See Santa Friday and Saturday from 6-9 p.m.

Nov. 39-Dec. 2

ChristmasVille

This four-day festival includes Santa Workshops, parades, live holiday performances, arts and crafts and other events. Santa arrives Nov. 30 at 7 p.m. and will have cookies and cocoa with friends at 7:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Rock Hill. A Huntersville Christmas

Take pictures with Santa and enjoy holiday activities and performances, and skate on the outdoor ice rink.

  • Cost: Free admission. $6 to ice skate.

 

Breakfast with Santa at Harris YMCA

Santa Claus arrives from the North Pole to listen to Christmas wishes of those young and old! Program includes performances by the Chalkettes gymnastics team and Nutcracker company dancers, as well as a sing-a-long and story time and crafts.

  • When: 9-10:30 a.m. or 10:30 a.m.-noon
  • Cost: $12-$15

 

Breakfast with Santa at Cantina 1511

  • Where: Cantina 1511 Uptown, 205 N. College St.

Candy Cane Hunt and Paws with Claus

Children can meet Santa and Mrs. Claus, search the greenway for candy canes and finish with s’mores over a campfire. Register online. 

  • Where: Anne Springs Close Greenway, 195 Adventure Road, Fort Mill.
  • When: 10 a.m. and noon
  • Cost: There is a $10 suggested Paws with Claus sitting/portrait fee and an addition $5 special event parking fee. 

 

Cookies and Cocoa with Santa and Market

Enjoy the train ride, face painters, balloon artists, live holiday music and free photos with Santa! Do not miss delicious cookies and hot cocoa, and parents cannot miss samples from Metropolitan’s restaurants, shopping and wine tastings.

Christmas at Whispering Hope Farm

Visit the animals, ride a horse, enjoy some hot coco and meet Santa! Bring a letter to be mailed off to the North Pole! Ticket sales end 30 minutes after the start of the event. Cash only.

Dec. 1-2

PJs in North Pole City

Bundle up in your coziest pajamas for hot chocolate and holiday activities. Sample liquid nitrogen marshmallows, make crafts and pose for a photo with Santa Claus before a special screening of "The Polar Express" in the IMAX Dome Theatre.

Caring Santa

Children with special needs and their families can enjoy a sensory-friendly Caring Santa event in partnership with Autism Speaks.

Winter Wednesdays at Waverly

Visit Waverly for some mid-week cheer starting Dec. 5 from 5-7:30 p.m. Start a new holiday tradition that includes a night full of entertainment, including music, shopping, sweet treats and of course, a visit from Santa! Joining Mr. Claus will be Olaf on Dec. 5, Anna and Elsa on Dec. 12, and Frosty on Dec. 19.

Teddy Bear Tea

Enjoy high tea, a special kids menu and dessert display, plus bottomless mimosas for the adults, plus private pictures with Santa. Children can decorate cookies at a fully stocked cookie decorating station, and each child takes home a Build-A-Bear Teddy Bear. A portion of proceeds benefit families in medical crisis at Hospitality House of Charlotte. Magical Morning: A Sensory-Friendly Santa Experience

The NASCAR Hall of Fame is offering a special sensory-friendly event for families living with autism or special needs. The NASCAR Hall of Fame elves have worked hard to create an environment where kids can be themselves. Each child will have the opportunity to meet Santa Claus in an atmosphere that is calming and quiet. No loud music or flashing lights here. Plus with pre-scheduled Santa times, there is little to no wait. This event also includes crafts and the opportunity to watch a Christmas movie in the High Octane Theater with the lights up and the sound down.

Cookies with Santa and Carolina Portrait Designs

Breakfast With Santa

Enjoy breakfast, a visit and picture with Santa, crafts and reindeer games plus much more. As an added bonus, each child ticket to Breakfast with Santa includes same-day complimentary admission to the ice rink on the NASCAR Hall of Fame Plaza.

  • When: Breakfast with Santa has sessions at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m.
