Nov. 3

Santa's Arrival at SouthPark

​Welcome Santa to SouthPark by enjoying crafts, activities and storytime with Santa.

Where: SouthPark Mall, 4400 Sharon Road in the West Plaza.

When: 6-7:30 p.m. Pictures with Santa (for a price) continue through Dec. 24 (Hours typically are Mon.-Sat., 10 a.m.-9 p.m. and Sun. 12:30-6 p.m.)

Nov. 4-5

Santa at the Charlotte Auto Show

Where: Charlotte Convention Center, 501 S. College St.

Santa will be stopping the bhe Charlotte Auto Show Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 4-5 from noon-4 p.m. Sunday is also Family Day and includes face painting and other activities for kids.


Nov. 9-19

Southern Christmas Show

Get holiday inspiration on Christmas Tree Lane, visit the collectors’ villages featuring dollhouses, miniatures and model trains, plus enjoy holiday entertainment and share your wish list with Santa. Photos with Santa are $10 and proceeds benefit Shriners Hospitals for Children. southernchristmasshow.com.

Nov. 10

Santa's Arrival at Concord Mills

Greet Santa and enjoy cookie decorating, a candy cane hunt and festive crafts.

Where: Concord Mills, 8111 Concord Mills Blvd.

When: Festive crafts and activities begin at 4:30 p.m.; Santa arrives at 6 p.m. Meet-and-greet and photo opportunities available until 8:30 p.m.

The Monroe Crossing Express

Children age 10 and younger are invited to decorate cookies, create a lantern to find their way to the North Pole, design a train ticket that the conductor will punch for a train ride around the mall to visit a few special friends, including Santa.

Nov. 12

Santa's Arrival Parade and Tree Lighting at Birkdale

A parade, live music, vendors, and a chance to visit with Santa.

Where: Birkdale Village, Birkdale Commons Parkway and Sam Furr Road, Huntersville.

When: 3-8 p.m. with the parade beginning at dusk (around 5:15pm)

Cost: Free.


Nov. 12 and Dec. 10

Pet Photo Night With Santa at SouthPark

​Bring your pets and family to SouthPark for photos.

Where: SouthPark Mall, 4400 Sharon Road

When: Nov. 12, 6:30-8:30 p.m. and Dec. 10, 7-9 p.m.

Nov. 17- Dec. 22

The Polar Express Train Ride

Take a train ride to the North Pole to meet Santa then have your picture taken with him on Candy Cane Lane.

Where: North Carolina Transportation Museum, 411 S. Salisbury Ave., Spencer

When: Open on weekends with extended days Dec. 14-22. Dress rehearsal tickets available for discounted price on Nov. 17.

Nov. 18

Breakfast With Santa

Eat a holly, jolly breakfast and visit with Santa in the food court. Enjoy music, games and crafts led by Mr. Nigel.

Where: Northlake Mall, 6801 Northlake Mall Drive.

South End Tree Lighting

This family-friendly event includes the lighting of the South End Christmas tree, hot chocolate, cider, holiday performances and a visit from Santa.

Where: Atherton Mill, 2140 South Blvd.

When: 5:30-7 p.m.; tree lighting at 6 p.m.

Cost: Free. 


Santa's Arrival and Tree Lighting at Blakeney Shopping Center

Watch the brand new Christmas tree light up. Then Santa will be riding through the shopping center to say hi to all the children. Make your way to the workshop where you can get pictures with him.

Where: Blakeney Shopping Center, 9839 Rea Road

When: 5-9 p.m.

Nov. 19

Santa Paws Pet Photos

Bring your family pet to Northlake Mall for photos with Santa. 

Where: Northlake Mall, 6801 Northlake Mall Drive.

When: 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Cost: Photos available for purchase, starting at $24.99.


Nov. 19-Dec. 31

Speedway Christmas

Drive the 3.5 mile course to see over 3 million lights. Then visit with Santa in the village for a special photo opportunity. The village also includes a petting zoo, a live nativity, marshmallow roasting and movies on the giant HDTV.

Where: Charlotte Motor Speedway, 5555 Concord Pkwy., South, Concord

When: Thurs.-Sun., 6-10 p.m. Closed Christmas Day and the Village is also closed Dec. 26, 27, and 31.

Cost: $25-$35 per car for Christmas light show and the Village visit. $20 on days when the village is closed.


Nov. 19

Caring Santa at Concord Mills and SouthPark

A private event designed so children and young adults with special needs and their families can visit with Santa and take photos in a low-key environment that supports the sensory, physical, and other developmental needs of children of all abilities. Registration is required.

Where: Concord Mills, 8111 Concord Mills Blvd., Concord at the Dining Pavilion; SouthPark Mall, 4400 Sharon Road at the Center Court

Christmas Wonderland of Lights

Drive through the park and view lights set to music. There will also be baby animals, pony rides, tiger feeding, s'mores, a petting zoo and pictures with Santa available.

Nov. 23

Breakfast With Santa at Coco and the Director

Buy tickets to get breakfast with Santa on Thanksgiving Day. Tickets include a choice of breakfast sandwich, side of fruit or yogurt, non-alcoholic beverage, one photo with Santa, and a VIP Bleacher Ticket to the Novant Health Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Holiday Fun at the Farm

Capture the Magic With Santa

Visit Santa at the Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden and get a professional photographer to take pictures of your family. Reservations required.

Light Up Cornelius

Get into the spirit with live performances, carriage rides, a large train display, music, children's activities, and a visit with Santa.

Opening Ceremony for Charlotte Christmas Village

The traditional Christkind appears alongside dancers from Charlotte Ballet’s “Nutcracker,” plus live music and a visit from Santa.

Santa Saturday! Free Photos with Santa

Bring your own cameras to BLACKLION and take pictures with Santa and his friends. There will also be fun backdrops for selfies. Then feel free to shop through the store.

Nov. 29

Sensory Santa

This holiday-themed evening will feature a specially-trained Santa who understands how to interact with individuals who have ASD, giving families the opportunity to share special holiday moments without long lines, bright lights and loud noises. Activities will be modified so that people with ASD and their families can enjoy exclusive access to the Museum in a low-sensory environment.

Where: Discovery Place Kids, 105 Gilead Road, Huntersville. 

When: 6:30-8:30pm.

Cost: Admission for this special event will be half-price for adults and children. (From $10 to $5)


Nov. 29-Dec. 2

Santa's Bag

Children under age 12 can shop for family and friends (including Mom and Dad) with the help of volunteer elves. Variety of inexpensive, pre-wrapped gifts. Santa will be at the event but there's no photographer. Feel free to bring your own camera. 

Where: Children's Theatre of Charlotte, ImaginOn, 300 E. 7th St.

When: Wed-Fri., 9-11:30 a.m.; 4:30-7 p.m.; Sat., 10 a.m.-2 p.m. (or until merchandise sells out)

Cost: Free to see Santa. Gifts range in price from 50 cents to $5.


Nov. 30

Mint Hill Christmas Tree Lighting

Enjoy hot chocolate, hot cider and holiday treats along with the annual tree lighting and a visit from Santa Claus.

Nov. 30 - Dec. 2

Santa's House at Christmas in Davidson

Part of the Christmas in Davidson celebration, children can share their wish lists and have a picture taken.

Where: Davidson College Presbyterian Church Congregation House, 100 N. Main St., Davidson. 

When: Santa arrives Thurs., Nov. 30 at 6:30 p.m. in horse drawn carriage with Santa's House running from 7-9 p.m. Fri.-Sat., 6-9 p.m.

Nov. 30-Dec. 3

ChristmasVille

This four-day festival includes Santa Workshops, parades, live holiday performances, arts and crafts and other events. Santa arrives Nov. 30 at 7 p.m. and will have cookies and cocoa with friends from 7:30-9 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Rock Hill. You can also visit Santa's workshop where children can meet Santa, watch gnomes at work, do Christmas crafts, make reindeer feed, get their faces painted and more. The Santa Workshop events take place Dec. 2, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. and Dec. 3 from noon-4:30 p.m. On Dec. 2 from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Jolly Old Saint Nicholas will read to children in at Story With Santa in the Garden at Glencairn Garden.

Charlotte Symphony Pops: Magic of Christmas

This musical holiday program includes music by the O'Connor Band, Charlotte Symphony Chorus, the Charlotte Children's Choir, plus a visit from Santa Claus. There is also a one-hour performance for families with young children on Dec. 2 at 11am.

A Huntersville Christmas

Take pictures with Santa and enjoy holiday activities and performances.

Holiday Festival of Lights

Downtown will be transformed into a winter wonderland and decorated with 500,000 lights. Enjoy the live Christmas concert and see Santa.

Christmas in Downtown Monroe

Watch the annual lighting of the Christmas Tree, visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, enjoy train rides and visit the petting zoo and more.

Breakfast With Santa/Ace and TJ's Grin Kids

The annual event benefit gives disabled children and their families an opportunity of a lifetime to go on a trip to Disney World. One picture per family with Santa, and the admission price includes a continental breakfast. Purchase tickets in advance online.

When: Time slots available every 30 minutes from 8-11:30 a.m.

Soothing Santa at Northlake Mall

Held in partnership with Autism Speaks, families with special needs children can register for a sensory-friendly visit with Santa in Tinsel Town at Northlake Mall. Register online.

Pet Night at Monroe Crossing

Bring your pet to Monroe Crossing to get a picture with the whole family, furry-friend included. There is also a Santa Paws Party on Dec. 19 from 6:30-7:30pm where families can bring their pets to a party at Reigning Cats and Dogs.

Winter Wednesdays at Waverly

Winter Wonderland Holiday Light Show

See a magical 3D light show cast on a canvas on the six-story Hampton Inn and Suites, plus special stilt walkers dressed in holiday costume, a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus, plus complimentary hot chocolate from Dean and Deluca. Please bring an unwrapped gift to donate to Toys for Tots.

Where: Phillips Place, 6800 Phillips Place Court

When: Dec. 7, 14 and 21, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Two light shows each night at 6:30 and 7:30 p.m.

Cost: Free. Additional free parking is available at the Morrocroft Centre parking deck located at 4064 Colony Road, with free shuttles running every 15 minutes to and from Phillips Place from 5-9:30 p.m.

A Pirate Holiday Party and a Visit from Santa at Mooresville Library

Children age 6 and younger can enjoy storytime with a reading of "A Pirate's Night Before Christmas" by Phillip Yates, sing a rendition of a "Pirates 12 Days of Christmas" and visit with Santa Claus.

When: Dec. 7 at 10 a.m. and Dec. 14 at 6 p.m. (come dressed in holiday pajamas or a pirate costume).

Dec. 9

Ballantyne Village Holiday Open House

Enjoy face painting and a balloon artist, train rides, arts and crafts and photo booth, plus visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Santa and Mrs. Claus Visit the Museum

Santa Claus will be at the Museum during the Toys, Games & TRAINS exhibit to visit with the little ones. Mrs. Claus will also do a special reading of the classic 1823 children’s story, “The Night Before Christmas.”

Light Up MillBridge

Lights, wreaths and greenery will decorate the community house and line the streets. Check out the Christmas tree, take a horse-drawn carriage ride, assemble crafts and enjoy hot chocolate and s'mores. Visitors will also be able to visit with Santa.

Breakfast with Homer the Dragon and Santa Claus

Enjoy a buffet breakfast, cookie decorating, and Christmas crafts. Then get photos taken with Santa Claus, Homer the Dragon, and all four Royalty Racers. Fans can also enter the ballpark and enjoy the festivities with a donation of a new coat at the gates.

StoneCrest at Piper Glen Pancakes with Santa

Enjoy breakfast with Santa and help support Second Harvest Food Bank. Merchants will be on-hand to provide savory breakfast and lunch options, including $1 pancakes. Delicious pancake decorations will also be available for $1, along with other breakfast items. Fun activities are planned including crafts and visits with “The Merry Christmas Tree.” Be sure to bring your camera to capture that special photo with Santa.

Please bring nonperishable food items to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank.

Pictures With Santa and Carriage Rides

Get a picture with Santa and Mrs. Claus and then enjoy a horse-drawn carriage rides around the Green.

The Singing Christmas Tree for Kids

The Carolina Voices perform holiday classics inside a specially designed 32-foot tree. Features appearances by the Grey Seal Puppets and Santa. Recommended for children ages 3-10.

When: Dec. 9 at 11 a.m. and Dec. 10 at 1:30 p.m.

Breakfast with Santa

Have breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Claus, take photos, watch a theater performance, and make a craft. Reservations required; tickets go on sale on Nov. 4 and must be purchased at the Matthews Community Center. Ages 2-8.

​Santa will be roaming the mall on these special days handing out treats and stopping for photos.

Let’s Party at Santa’s Workshop

Visit Santa's Workshop and listen to stories, watch a movie, eat snacks and make a craft to take home. No registration required.

Dec. 15

Polar Express Event

Come visit Santa, make crafts, sip on hot chocolate and watch "The Polar Express."

Rivergate Donuts with Santa

Enjoy delicious Rise Biscuits Donuts with Santa. Donuts and other breakfast items are $1 donation each. All proceeds benefit Second Harvest Food Bank. Bring your camera to capture a special photo with Santa and his friends - Rudolph and The Merry Christmas Tree. There will also be a balloon artist and crafts

Private Visit With Santa at Latta Plantation

Children can enjoy a private visit with Santa inside a 200-year-old log cabin. Bring your camera to take a photoSanta will also give a personalized gift to the child (that is brought by the parents). Registration required.

Holly Jolly Breakfast With Santa at Dave and Buster's Concord Mills
