TreesCharlotte Helps Educate Kids On The Value of Trees
TreesCharlotte hosts a weeklong celebration of Arbor Day, March 12-19.

TreesCharlotte is digging in at eight local schools on N.C. Arbor Day to plant trees and educate students on how trees benefit the environment. The March 18 event is part of its Charlotte Arbor Week Celebration, March 12-19. TreesCharlotte is also working with Devonshire Elementary and Cochran Collegiate Academy students and staff to plant 328 trees on the campus of both schools March 12. An End of Season Citywide Free TreeStore also is scheduled at Landscape Management at 701 Tuckaseegee Road on March 19. More than 600 free trees will be given to individuals with proof of Charlotte residence.
TreesCharlotte, established in 2012, is partnered with the City of Charlotte, and dedicated to expanding Charlotte’s tree canopy with the goal of attaining 50 percent tree canopy by 2050. For more on Charlotte Arbor Week Celebration events, visit TreesCharlotte.org/arborweek.
