Join Charlotte Mecklenburg Library this April for Digital Día
Still Celebrating Children, Literature and Culture.
Charlotte Meckleburg Library is still celebrating El día de los niños/El día de los libros (Children’s Day/Book Day) during April 2020. Also known as Día, this initiative emphasizes the importance of literacy for children of all linguistic and cultural backgrounds. This year's Día theme is "Together with Dia." Throughout the month of April, Library staff members will share storytime and special cultural programs. Programs will be available on You Tube and our Digital Branch. Families are encouraged to view the videos together and learn and explore different countries and cultures while staying at home.
As with all Día celebrations, Charlotte Mecklenburg Library host a featured author and or illustrator. This year's celebration features Suzanne Bloom. Bloom is the author/illustrator of many children’s books including A Splendid Friend, Indeed, which received an inaugural Theodore Seuss Geisel honor. Some of her other titles include Feeding Friendsies, We Keep a Pig in the Parlor, No Place for a Pig and a story time favorite, The Bus for Us. She is the author of seventeen books and has illustrated books such as Melissa Parkington's Beautiful, Beautiful Hair by Pat Brisson.
