Piedmont Town Center Tree Lighting. Train rides, visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus, arts and crafts, balloon art, a magician and face painting. Concord Christmas Parade. Join thousands of spectators along the parade route from Lake Concord Road to Corban Avenue. Kicks off at 2:30pm. Free. Historic Downtown Concord, Concord. concorddowntown.com.
South End Tree Lighting. Sip on hot beverages, watch holiday performances and see the tree light up, plus a visit from Santa. Kicks off at 5:30pm with tree lighting at 6pm. Festivities continue until 7pm. Free. Atherton Mill, 2000 South Blvd. historicsouthend.com.
Mooresville Christmas Parade. Floats, marching bands, dance and tumbling troupes, vintage and modern modes of transport, plus plenty of fun and entertainment for the family, and of course Santa! 3pm. Free. Marches down Main Street, beginning at Statesville Avenue. mooresvillechristmasparade.com.
Panthers Tree Lighting. The fourth annual Carolina Panthers Tree Lighting includes appearances by Sir Purr, the TopCats Cheerleaders, the PurrCussion Drumline and the Black and Blue Crew. The tree lighting ceremony program also includes performances featuring the Charlotte Bronze Handbell Ensemble and Queen City Groove. Families can enjoy children's activities, holiday movies, festive music and a special visit from Santa Claus. The event will conclude with the tree lighting ceremony for the 58-foot, 8-inch tall Norway Spruce harvested in Linville, North Carolina. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs to relax and enjoy the festivities. Food and drinks will also be available for purchase from a number of local food trucks onsite. 6-7:30pm. Novant Health Thanksgiving Day Parade. Kick off the season with marching bands, large balloons and floats, and live performances in front of the Levine Center for the Arts on South Tryon Street. Lights on the Square: Uptown Tree Lighting. Starting at 5:30 p.m. there will be live performances from the JBP Entertainment dancers, Lil Misfit dance group, Hawthorne United Methodist Church Bell Choir and Hough High School chorus. At 6:30 p.m., with the help of ACC sports mascots, Santa will light the tree. After the tree lighting, Santa will move across the Square to Polk Park to listen to Christmas wishes and sit for photographs with children until 8 p.m. Free. North Mecklenburg Christmas Parade. See high school bands, horses, tractors, school groups, dance and tumbling groups, and more. Starts at 1:30pm. Free. Parade starts in Davidson at the intersection of Griffith Street and Highway 115 and goes into Cornelius at the intersection of Highway 115 and Catawba Avenue.

Gastonia Christmas in the City Village and Parade. Get a free picture with Santa, Elsa, Olaf and the Grinch. Enjoy decorating a tree ornament, playing games, plus food and crafts as part of the Christmas in the City Village. The village is open 2-8pm.
