Nov. 9

Nov. 16

Concord Tree Lighting and Art Walk. The event features live music, children’s activities, visits with Santa, artist demonstrations and activities throughout downtown Concord. At 8:30pm, see the tree lighting and fireworks! The Art Walk also serves as the opening reception for the Cabarrus Arts Council's newest exhibition, Clay. 6-9pm. Free. Holiday Magic at Rea Farms. Come out for a free photo with Mr and Mrs. Claus! Meet Sir Purr and visit with characters from Frozen. Mooresville Christmas Parade. Floats, marching bands, dance and tumbling troupes, vintage and modern modes of transport, plus plenty of fun and entertainment for the family, and of course Santa! 3-5pm. Free. Nov. 22

Novant Health Thanksgiving Day Parade. The largest Thanksgiving parade in the Southeast will include huge balloons, magical floats and exciting marching bands. The parade will run a new route south on Tryon Street, from 9th Street to Stonewall Street. novanthealththanksgivingparade.com.


Nov. 24

Kannapolis Annual Christmas Tree Lighting. Celebrate the start of the holiday season with live music, entertainment, kids activities, fireworks and the Winterland Express and Carousel. 6-10pm. Free. Village Park, 700 West C. St., Kannapolis.

Light Up Cornelius. Stop by for refreshments, the annual tree lighting, choir and dance performances, holiday crafts, carriage rides, vendors and a visit from Santa. 4-7pm. Free. Cornelius Town Hall, 21445 Catawba Ave., Cornelius. cornelius.org.

NASCAR Hall of Fame Tree Lighting Celebration. The NASCAR Hall of Fame brings the holiday season to light with the fourth annual tree lighting on the NASCAR Hall of Fame Plaza in Uptown Charlotte. The community is invited to join Santa Claus, Champ the Cheetah and Sheri Lynch from WLNK/107.9 The Link for an evening of family-friendly activities, live music and entertainment as the 39-foot tree glimmers with thousands of LED lights. Annual Christmas Parade in Downtown Mount Holly. Visit Downtown Mount Holly for the Annual Christmas parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony. Parade will begin at 4 p.m. with the Tree Lighting Ceremony to follow at approximately 5:30 p.m. Free. Downtown Mount Holly. mtholly.us.


Nov. 29

Fort Mill Tree Lighting. The annual light up the town with help from the community. 7pm. Free. The Bandstand on Main Street, Main Street, Fort Mill. fortmillsc.gov.

Uptown Tree Lighting. Uptown Charlotte comes to life with holiday spirit at the annual Uptown Tree Lighting. For the first time, the celebration takes place at the Charlotte Christmas Village at the corner of E. Seventh and N. Tryon streets. Entertainment begins at 5:30 p.m. featuring brass musicians from the Charlotte Symphony, the Hough High School chorus and remarks from various officials. Santa lights the tree at 6:30 p.m. and will be available for pictures until 7:30 p.m. ACC mascots, in town for the ACC football championship, will also be on hand to celebrate. Free. Nov. 30

Harrisburg's Annual Christmas Tree Lighting. Meet Santa and Mrs. Claus and watch the tree lighting. Enjoy horse-drawn carriage rides, children's crafts, a live nativity and performances by local dancers and musicians. Local crafts and seasonal refreshments will be available for purchase. 6-9pm. Lighting of Christmas Town USA. Join the annual tree-lighting ceremony in McAdenville. The ceremony begins at 5 p.m., and the switch will be pulled at 6 p.m. to start another Christmas Town USA season. Free. Pharr Family YMCA, 208 Main St., McAdenville. mcadenville-christmastown.com.

Christmas Parade and Winter Wonderland Festival. The parade starts at 3pm in Downtown Kings Mountain with the festival following immediately afterwards in Patriots Park. Festival features live performances, food vendors, crafts and activities for the entire family, and the grand arrival of Santa Claus! 3-6pm. Free. Pineville Christmas Tree Lighting. Watch Santa light the tree at Pineville's Christmas Tree Lighting at Pineville Lake Park, complete with children's craft tent, train rides, candy cane hunt, hot chocolate, balloon artists, bonfire with s'mores, juggler, stilt walker and carolers. 3-5:30pm. North Mecklenburg Christmas Parade. See high school bands, horses, tractors, school groups, dance and tumbling groups, and more. Starts at 1pm. Belmont Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. Visit Belmont for the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting in front of City Hall. Witness the candle light ceremony with Christmas carols. 5:30pm. Free. 115 N Main Street, Belmont. cityofbelmont.org.


Dec. 4

Belmont Christmas Parade. Marching bands, professional floats, decorated vehicles of all descriptions and a wide assortment of other entries will parade through downtown Belmont. 3pm. Free. Downtown Belmont. cityofbelmont.org.


Dec. 6

Christmas in Cramerton. Celebrate Christmas in Cramerton with a Christmas parade on 8th Ave. After the parade, witness the tree lighting, and enjoy free pictures with Santa and carriage rides. 4pm. Free. Market St. and Eighth Ave., Cramerton. cramerton.org.


Dec. 8

Indian Land Christmas Parade. Indian Land will host its first annual Christmas Parade this year, complete with special characters to make the parade a magical event! There will be food trucks and vendors, so come in early! 3pm. Indian Land High School, 8063 River Road, Indian Land. ilcpo.org.

4th Annual Christmas Enchantment in the Garden. Mount Holly Community Garden, 126 N. Main St., Mount Holly. 5-9pm. Free. Why settle for one tree, when you can light up the whole garden? The garden will have 52 decorated garden beds, hundreds of luminaries, live music, food trucks, hot cider and cookies. Topping off the evening is a visit by Santa! mounthollycommunitygarden.com.

Lighted Boat Parade. The 22nd Annual Lighted Boat Parade is a lake-wide event that is open to the public. Concessions begin at 5 p.m., and Santa arrives via fireboat at 6 p.m. with the parade to follow. The Peninsula Yacht Club, 18501 Harbor Light Blvd., Cornelius. peninsulayacht.com/lbp.

Light Up MillBridge. MillBridge will sparkle with thousands of luminaries. Lights, wreaths and greenery will decorate the community house, streets and Christmas tree. Kannapolis Christmas Parade. The Kannapolis Christmas Parade will celebrate its 80th Birthday this year when it returns to South Main Street and Dale Earnhardt Boulevard. Dec. 9

Dec. 14
