Nov. 15

Nov. 16

Santa’s Arrival and Tree Lighting at Birkdale Village. Watch the parade to celebrate Santa's arrival, plus live entertainment, tree-lighting and vendors. Nov. 22

Piedmont Town Center Tree Lighting. See the tree lighting at 7 p.m. Come early and stay late to enjoy train rides, visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus, a photo booth, balloon artist, face painting, goodie bags and complimentary hot cocoa. Holiday Magic at Rea Farms. Come out for a free photo with Santa and Mrs. Claus! Meet Christmas Mickey and Minnie, and visit with characters from Frozen. Santa's Arrival and Tree Lighting at Blakeney Shopping Center. Enjoy the vendor village and activities from 4 to 7 p.m. Santa arrives in a horse-drawn carriage at 6 p.m., and is available for photos until 9 p.m. Free. Nov. 26

Mooresville Holiday Light Show. The annual Holiday Light Spectacular features 150,000 lights set to music. A community favorite not to miss! Free. Starts at 6:30 p.m. Town Hall Lawn, 413 N. Main Street. downtownmooresville.com.


Nov. 30

Dec. 2

Belmont Christmas Tree Lighting. Enjoy the Christmas tree-lighting ceremony. After the ceremony, stroll down Main Street into Stowe Park for the kickoff of the Festival of Trees. Free. 6 p.m. City Hall, 115 N. Main St., Belmont. cityofbelmont.org.

Dec. 3

Belmont Christmas Parade. The 70th Annual Belmont Christmas Parade will includemore than 100 units,including marching bands, floats, decorated vehicles and characters. The parade begins at the intersection of South Main Street, McLeod Avenue and Myrtle Street, proceeds north on Main Street, turns right on Catawba Street, and continues to the intersection of Church and Tucker streets. Uptown Tree Lighting. Uptown Charlotte comes to life with holiday spirit at the annual Uptown Tree Lighting. Dec. 5

Christmas in Cramerton. Celebrate Christmas in Cramerton with a parade, tree- lighting, and free pictures with Santa. Photos with Santa begin at approximately 6 p.m. Free. 4 p.m. Market Street and Eighth Avenue, Cramerton. cramerton.org.

Dec. 6

Harrisburg's Annual Christmas Tree Lighting. Visit the new Veterans Park for the lighting of the Christmas tree. Huntersville Town Center Tree Lighting. Christmas on Main.  Mark your calendars for Monroe's annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Christmas Bazaar! Enjoy live entertainment, a petting zoo, train and trolley rides, Santa, and more. Mint Hill Christmas Parade and Annual Christmas Tree Lighting. The parade travels down Matthews-Mint Hill Road from Bain School to the Mint Hill Library. Santa leaves after the parade and returns to Town Hall for the tree-lighting. Enjoy hot chocolate, cider and cookies. North Mecklenburg Christmas Parade. See high school bands, horses, tractors, school groups and civic groups. Parade starts in Davidson at the intersection of Griffith Street and Highway 115 and marches to Cornelius at the intersection of Highway 115 and Catawba Avenue. Reindog Parade and Mistletoe Market. Shop the outdoor market, see a parade of dogs in sweaters, roast marshmallows, watch a holiday movie at the German-inspired beer haus, hear local musicians, purchase seasonal food and sip on a hot drink in a limited-edition enamel mug. Dec. 8

NODA Christmas Tree Lighting. Enjoy family activities, hot chocolate, cookies and music at this tree lighting. Free. 4-7 p.m. Johnston YMCA, 3025 N Davidson St.

Waxhaw Christmas Parade. The Waxhaw Christmas Parade features local school marching bands and floats by businesses and members of the community. Free. 3-5 p.m. Downtown Waxhaw. waxhaw.com.


Dec. 12

Yule Log Parade and Ceremony. Join residents as they pull the yule log through town to Legacy Park where it is ignited. The evening continues with caroling and a visit from Santa. 5:30-8:45 p.m. Free. Pharr Yarns Main Office, 100 Main St., McAdenville. mcadenville-christmastown.com.


Dec. 13 and 20

Celebrate the Holidays in Downtown Mooresville. Experience music, Santa visits, Christmas Tree Lane, wagon rides, a life-size snow globe, holiday light spectacular and more. Dec. 14

5th Annual Christmas Enchantment in the Garden. See 52 decorated garden beds, hundreds of luminaries, live music, food trucks, hot cider and cookies. Topping off the evening is a visit by Santa! Lancaster Christmas Parade. Watch this evening parade with a Grinch theme! Free. 6 p.m. Main Street, Lancaster, South Carolina. lancastercitysc.com.

Lighted Boat Parade. The 23rd Annual Lighted Boat Parade is a lake-wide event that is open to the public. Concessions begin at 5 p.m., and Santa arrives via fireboat at 6 p.m. with the parade to follow. The Peninsula Yacht Club, 18501 Harbor Light Blvd., Cornelius. peninsulayacht.com/lbp.

Light up Lowell Festival and Christmas Parade. Visit Lowell for the annual Christmas Parade, which will begin at 4 p.m. with a tree lighting ceremony following at 5 p.m. Food trucks and Santa will be at the tree lighting. First Baptist Church, 400 W. 1st St., Lowell. lowellnc.com.

Light up MillBridge. Luminaries will light the streets of MillBridge, leading visitors through a covered bridge to a lit Christmas tree.
