Discover the truth behind these mythologies as you follow the expedition of our hero through undersea perils, mysterious jungles, forbidding swamps, and an abandoned mine.

Know Your Nature Exhibit

This event occurs weekly, on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

This nature-themed exhibit is packed with fun, hands-on activities that highlight ways for kids and families to discover, appreciate and experience the natural world. Colorful, scenic settings and displays encourage children and families to be active explorers and thoughtful stewards of nature.

Introduction to Bouldering

McDowell Nature Preserve

Hang on and hang out at Dixon School Boulders in Crowders Mountain State Park. Meet at McDowell Nature Center, and ride in a van to the climbing area. Staff will provide crash pads and instruction. This is not a drop off program. Preregistration required.
