9 Ways to Celebrate Mother’s Day in the Greater Charlotte Area

Need unique ideas on how to celebrate Mother’s Day? We’ve compiled nine events happening this week in honor of moms. Be pampered, go hiking or enjoy a story time with the kids.
1. Mommy and Me: Mother’s Day Storytime. May 10, 10:30 a.m.
Enjoy a special Mother's Day storytime and frost cupcakes at SAS Cupcakes.
2. Mother’s Day Breakfast and Tour. May 12, 7:30-10 a.m.
Guests will enjoy a hot buffet breakfast, an uplifting message and a guided Journey of Faith tour. Each mother in attendance will also receive a special gift. Billy Graham Library.
3. York County Women’s Fair, May 12, 10 a.m.
Celebrate Mother’s Day weekend at the Women’s Fair presented by Absolute Total Care, which offers dozens of vendors, a fun photo booth, massages, makeovers, airbrush tattoos, face painting, self-defense classes, fashion shows, and prizes. The River Place in Fort Mill.
4. Mother’s Day Storytime, May 12, 11 a.m.
Join a special Mother's Day storytime featuring books by bestselling authors Hoda Kotb and Jimmy Fallon. Activities to follow at the Barnes and Noble at Morrison Place.
5. 2018 Queen City Mother’s Day Festival, May 12 1-5 p.m.
The festival is partnering with the #SingleMomsMatter Movement for this year’s festival theme “buy from a mom for a mom.’ All vendors will be mothers. Guests can expect crafts, vendor shopping, art, food, games, 100 free swag bags and more at the Carole Hoefener Center.
6. Mother’s Day at Life Time Athletic Charlotte, May 12-13, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
All mothers are invited to Life Time Athletic Charlotte for complimentary access to the facility. Moms are encouraged enjoy one of four signature classes for the occasion: yoga and extended scalp massage, mat Pilates, cycle signature sampler, and studio signature sampler.
7. Mother’s Day at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden, May 12-13, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
Moms get free entry this Saturday and Sunday. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., there will be family activities such as live music, family crafts, horse-drawn carriage rides (additional fee) and more. Lunch, snacks and beverages (including mimosas) will be available for purchase. The first 250 mothers admitted each day will receive a free potted plant courtesy of Rountree Plantation Garden Center.
8. Mother’s Day Family Hike, May 13, 2-3:30 p.m.
Celebrate this special day by taking a stroll with the family at the Latta Plantation Nature Preserve in Huntersville.
9. Mother’s Day at The Golf Club at Ballantyne, May 13.
Moms play free with a paying adult companion.
